How to Clean and Store Plus-Plus Grab Bags

Quick answer

Clean Plus-Plus blocks from grab bags by hand-washing in warm soapy water, then air-dry completely before storing in clear bins or zip bags sorted by color or theme.

Step-by-step care routine

1. Sort and inspect: Empty the grab bag onto a light-colored tray or cloth. Check for any debris, stickers, or residue. Separate pieces by color or intended build if you plan to display them. Do not mix pieces from different grab bags until you have inspected each batch.
2. Hand wash in warm soapy water: Fill a bowl with warm water and a drop of mild dish soap. Gently swish the blocks for a few minutes. Avoid hot water or soaking for more than 10 minutes, as extreme heat can warp the plastic. Do not use bleach, abrasive cleaners, or a dishwasher—these can damage the blocks.
3. Rinse and air dry: Rinse the blocks in a colander with cool water. Spread them on a clean towel and let them air dry completely—usually 2–4 hours. Do not use a hair dryer or microwave. Make sure every piece is bone-dry before storing to prevent mold or sticking.
4. Store in clear containers by color or theme: Use small clear bins, zip bags, or compartment boxes. Group pieces by color for easy building, or keep themed grab bags together if you plan to recreate the original design. Label each container with the color or set name so you can find pieces quickly later.
